Fusion is a Dragonball Z fan's candy. It's a rare time when we get to see the best attributes of our favorite characters together in one body and the good guys demonstrate incredible strength. Fusion can be done through different ways. Fusion Dance: Two characters start facing the same way and go through various posses and end up in the middle touching finger tips. This is seen quite a bit in Dragonball Z and GT, Goku and Vegeta form Gogeta with the dance and Trunks and Goten form Gotenks. The limitations of the dance include the fact that the warriors must be at roughly the same power level, so Goku has to lower his power when fusing with Vegeta, the fusion only lasts for 30 minutes, and the fighters must do the exact same posses or the fusion will be improper (dance seen below). However the dance induced fusions are extremely powerful and fun to watch in battle. Potaka earings: This type of fusion is only seen once in Dragonball Z. The earings were given to Goku by the elder Kioshin so Goku could fuse with Gohan to defeat Ultra Buu. Gohan got absorbed by Buu before Goku could fuse with him (I think the fusion would have been cool) so Goku fused with Vegeta instead to form Vegetto. When using the Potaka earings the warriors' power levels are combined creating a better warrior between Goku and Vegeta than the dance could (fusion in progress seen above). This with the added power of the earings caused Vegetto to have unimaginably high power. One drawback to the Potaka earings is that the fusion is permanent, however once Vegetto gets absorbed by Buu the fusion wears off. Namek fusion: This is totally different from the above mentioned fusions. For starters only Nameks can do this. It's fairly simple, one warrior combines his power and body with another. But one warrior is in control and with the exception of the other warriors power and memory, he is pretty much gone. Piccolo does this twice, once on Namek with Nail, and again for the last time with his better half, (no pun intended) Kami.
